About Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a ‘non profit’ community program where volunteers deliver hot meals to home-bound individuals who are elderly, disabled, convalescing or to those who lack the strength or motivation to prepare adequate meals for themselves.

Meals on Wheels relies heavily on the support of the community to deliver meals. However, with more and more people working away from home these days, we are finding it increasingly difficult to find volunteers to fulfill our delivery schedules. We are always encouraged when someone can assist with deliveries.

The commitment is from approximately 11:15 am – 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday. There are no deliveries on statutory holidays and weekends. The volunteers are required to provide the use of their own vehicle at their own expense, as well as the approximate 1 hour time commitment.  There are many alternative delivery options available – 1 month at a time, 1 week at a time, 1 day a week, etc.

If you would be willing to volunteer to help this valuable community program please call the Meals on Wheels office at (780)539–3901.
